Coripharma is pleased to announce the successful completion of a pivotal bioequivalence (BE) study for Binimetinib tablets. The study demonstrated bioequivalence to the reference product, representing a key milestone in the development of this important oncology therapy for the generic market.

The successful outcome of the pivotal BE study confirms the robustness of Coripharma’s formulation and development strategy and supports the advancement of Binimetinib toward regulatory submission planned for October 2026.

Coripharma is currently evaluating strategic partnership opportunities for Binimetinib tablets to join our planned submission. We welcome discussions with partners with complementary regulatory, commercial, or market access capabilities in priority territories.

Binimetinib is an orally administered MEK inhibitor. The reference product (Mektovi®) is indicated in combination with encorafenib for the treatment of melanoma.

Coripharma is pleased to announce changes within its Commercial Operations that further strengthen the company’s Business Development organization.

Harpa Leifsdottir has been appointed Department Manager of Business Development. Harpa has been part of Coripharma for five years, most recently as Business Development Manager, and brings more than 20 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry. In her new role, she will continue to support Coripharma’s growth strategy and will report to Lilja Valdimarsdottir, Director of Commercial Operations.

In addition, Coripharma welcomes Rhys Thomas to the Business Development team. Rhys brings extensive international experience across global and regional business development, licensing and supply agreements, strategic alliances, and M&A, with a strong track record of delivering value‑creating partnerships.

These appointments reflect Coripharma’s continued focus on strengthening its commercial capabilities and supporting long‑term growth.

The successful outcome of the pivotal BE study confirms the robustness of Coripharma’s formulation and development strategy and supports the advancement of Letermovir toward regulatory submission.

Building on its established track record in the development of complex and hard‑to‑develop generic medicines, Coripharma is evaluating strategic partnership opportunities for Letermovir tablets.

The company is open to discussions with partners who bring complementary regulatory, commercial, or market access capabilities and who share Coripharma’s focus on the disciplined, long‑term development of high‑quality generic products.

Letermovir is an antiviral agent indicated for the prophylaxis of cytomegalovirus reactivation. The availability of a generic version of Letermovir has the potential to improve patient access while supporting sustainable healthcare systems.

Coripharma Successfully Completes Pivotal Bioequivalence Study for Letermovir

Coripharma is featured in the latest edition of Nordic Life Science magazine (3/2019), a leading news source for life sciences, including pharmaceuticals and contract manufacturing in the Nordics.

Interviewed by the magazine, Coripharma’s Director of Business Development Björn Aðalsteinsson says the idea is to use the team’s experience to ensure the continuation of pharmaceutical manufacturing in Iceland. Coripharma’s competitive edge, he says, also involves the site’s history of high quality and its strategic location.

Following the acquisition of the former Actavis R&D site from Teva earlier this year, Björn continues, Coripharma is now a fully-fledged CDMO, that will out-license its products to international customers.
